At just 15 years old, Bima Aditya is already a familiar sight on Java’s toughest downhill tracks. The East Java young gun has been quietly stacking results at every major race on the island, and none of it feels accidental. Talent helps—but direction matters. And Bima’s path has been shaped under the watchful eye of Popo Ario, Patrol Mountain’s legendary downhill racer and mentor.

“I’m really lucky Mas Popo saw something in me early on,” Bima says. “He trains me in his own way, and it’s helped me grow my skills on the right path.”

Bima’s relationship with bikes started early. He was just six years old when he began racing BMX, learning race craft, gate starts, and speed discipline. By 13, gravity took over. He switched to downhill, lining up in the Pre-Youth category aboard the Patrol 671, where his talent and raw speed met off-road terrain for the first time.

As Bima grew—taller, stronger, faster—his equipment evolved with him. The move to the Patrol 691 Evo marked a turning point. Bigger 29-inch wheels, longer travel, and a more aggressive geometry gave him the confidence to push harder and carry speed higher into rough technical courses.
“I like setting up my suspension really precisely,” Bima explains. “If it’s right, I can keep momentum through rough sections and stay as smooth as possible.”

That smoothness shows on the clock. More than once, his Youth category times have crept uncomfortably close to Junior podium territory—a clear signal that something special is brewing.
Results backed it up in 2025, with Bima finishing second overall in the Indonesia National Downhill Series in the Youth class. But the hunger hasn’t eased. Looking ahead to 2026, the goal is simple and uncompromising: first place, every round.
The kid from East Java is coming fast.
Good luck, Radboy.
