Not Your Typical Mountain Biker https://patrolmountain.com/josh-green-not-your-typical-mountain-biker/ https://patrolmountain.com/josh-green-not-your-typical-mountain-biker/#comments Thu, 23 Apr 2026 07:03:00 +0000 https://patrolmountain.com/?p=1424 Based in New South Wales, Josh spends his days building mountain bike trails deep in the bush—shaping lines, reading terrain, and understanding how a track should feel long before he rides it. It’s a different kind of training. Less structured, more instinctive. But it shows.

But long before the shovel and machine, Josh built his name racing off-road enduro at the highest level with Yamaha—a career that saw him rise to the top of Australian racing.

An Australian Champion in the Australian Off-Road Championship, Josh has stood on the podium at iconic events like the Finke Desert Race and taken outright wins at the Hattah Desert Race—two of the toughest and most respected races in the country.

That level of racing doesn’t just build speed—it builds instinct.

The ability to read terrain at pace, stay composed in chaos, and commit without hesitation. It’s something that never leaves you.

“I’m on the tools most days, cutting in lines and working with the land,” Josh says. “You start to see things differently—the way dirt moves, how water runs, where speed can be carried. It all translates when you’re riding.”

Mountain biking was originally just a tool—something to keep him sharp during his racing career. A way to train without a throttle.

But even after stepping back from professional off-road racing, that need for adrenaline never went away.

Now, it shows up in a different form.

Swapping throttle for pedals, Josh has carved out a new lane in e-bike racing—bringing that same race mindset into a completely different discipline. The result? Back-to-back wins in the e-bike category at the Cannonball MTB Festival.

Different bike. Same outcome.

That crossover between motos and mountain bikes is what sets him apart. He doesn’t just ride trails—he understands them from every angle. Builder, racer, and rider all in one.

These days, trail building is the main gig. Long days in the bush, shaping lines that other riders will eventually experience for the first time.

But no matter how busy things get, Josh still makes time to race.

Because for him, it’s never just been about the job—it’s about the feeling.

And whether it’s twisting a throttle or turning pedals, he’s still chasing it.

Bima Aditya, Young & Fearless https://patrolmountain.com/bima-aditya-young-fearless/ https://patrolmountain.com/bima-aditya-young-fearless/#comments Fri, 23 Jan 2026 06:36:51 +0000 https://patrolmountain.com/?p=1283 At just 15 years old, Bima Aditya is already a familiar sight on Java’s toughest downhill tracks. The East Java young gun has been quietly stacking results at every major race on the island, and none of it feels accidental. Talent helps—but direction matters. And Bima’s path has been shaped under the watchful eye of Popo Ario, Patrol Mountain’s legendary downhill racer and mentor.

“I’m really lucky Mas Popo saw something in me early on,” Bima says. “He trains me in his own way, and it’s helped me grow my skills on the right path.”

Bima’s relationship with bikes started early. He was just six years old when he began racing BMX, learning race craft, gate starts, and speed discipline. By 13, gravity took over. He switched to downhill, lining up in the Pre-Youth category aboard the Patrol 671, where his talent and raw speed met off-road terrain for the first time.

As Bima grew—taller, stronger, faster—his equipment evolved with him. The move to the Patrol 691 Evo marked a turning point. Bigger 29-inch wheels, longer travel, and a more aggressive geometry gave him the confidence to push harder and carry speed higher into rough technical courses.

“I like setting up my suspension really precisely,” Bima explains. “If it’s right, I can keep momentum through rough sections and stay as smooth as possible.”

That smoothness shows on the clock. More than once, his Youth category times have crept uncomfortably close to Junior podium territory—a clear signal that something special is brewing.

Results backed it up in 2025, with Bima finishing second overall in the Indonesia National Downhill Series in the Youth class. But the hunger hasn’t eased. Looking ahead to 2026, the goal is simple and uncompromising: first place, every round.

The kid from East Java is coming fast.
Good luck, Radboy.
